The St. Lawrence River is located in eastern North America. It flows from Lake Ontario and finishes it journey into the Atlantic Ocean. This major river helped form basis of the St. Lawrence Seaway. The seaway, constructed of locks and canals, was a breakthrough for trading, it allowed vessels to go from the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes. Creating the St. Lawrence seaway has made the St. Lawrence river one of North America's most important transportation routes. In Canada, people call this river the "Mother of Canada".
