The Great Plains is the grassland region in between the Mississippi river and the Rocky Mountains. It has a humid continental climate, perfect for growing crops, though what really makes this area ideal for farming is it's rich soil. This region is composed of farm land, small towns, and more farm land. The Great Plains are the "Grain-belt" region. Once this region spreads into Canada, it is known as the Interior Plains. The environment in the east is wetter, allowing farmers to grow crops like corn and soybeans. The environment in the west is drier creating the perfect atmosphere for wheat and livestock.
