As one can see, the Atlantic Ocean is and was a major trade route. The ocean has been zoned into North Atlantic and South Atlantic. From the 16th to 19th century, the Atlantic Ocean was used for slave, crop, and manufactures goods trade. The route they would take from country to country made a triangular shape, that is where the term Triangular Trade Route came from. Now in days trades are going on all throughout the Atlantic Ocean. The ocean merges into the Arctic ocean up North and into the Southern Ocean in the South.
